Miàs Arquitectes wins the tender to renovate Pa...
Miàs Arquitectes, run by architect Josep Miàs, will be responsible for designing the renovation of Passeig de la Indústria and the Plaça de l’Ajuntament in Banyoles. The proposal presented by the Banyoles-based team of architects won the tender put out by the Town Council and envisages a more pedestrianised street to improve the connection with the town's Old Quarter.

Barcelona architect Oriol Bohigas has been awarded the city’s Gold Medal, presented by Mayoress Ada Colau. The prize-giving ceremony was held on 25 October in Barcelona City Hall's Saló de Cent hall, and the winning architect was accompanied by his wife, Beth Galí, and their children Maria, Josep, Pere and Glòria Bohigas.

On Friday, 18 May, the Young Architects’ Association of Catalonia (AJAC) held the prize-giving ceremony for the AJAC XI Awards at the Mies van del Rohe Pavilion in Barcelona.The award, which this year received almost 150 entries, entails the publication of all the winning proposals in a book as well as a travelling exhibition and the “inexperiences” seminars, where award-winners have the opportunity to explain their work to the audience.

The COAC awards its Gold Medal to Rafael Moneo
The Architects’ Association presented the Gold Medal to architect Rafael Moneo at a private ceremony held at the COAC’s headquarters in Barcelona on 3 April. The Association has awarded its highest distinction in recognition of Rafael Moneo’s professional and cultural contributions, which have made him one of the leading figures in national and international architecture of the past half-century.
