State of the Profession 2017. Survey results
The Architects' Association of Catalonia (COAC) has carried out the survey 'Architects. Situation, opportunities and prospects'. The purpose of this survey is to ascertain and describe the current situation of architects in Catalonia in order to define the evolution of the profession over the last few years, measure the levels of occupation and professional development, and identify the overall perception of the sector and its prospects in the future.
To do so, an online survey was conducted between March and April 2016 aimed at every architect who lives or works in Catalonia. The questionnaire was answered by a total of 1,710 architects. After analysing the survey results, the COAC presented the conclusions on November 7th, 2016.
The survey gives a general overview of such issues as the occupational situation, the diversification of activities, different kinds of ongoing and specialised training, working abroad, what future prospects are available to us, etc., and makes a detailed analysis of the broad range of activities that architects are involved in today and those we think we might be doing in the future.
The full study is available for COAC members only. Alternatively, you can dowload the executive summary.
