LACOL Arquitectura Cooperativa
On Thursday, December 1, 2022, at 7:30 p.m., we will have the opportunity to listen to the LACOL Arquitectura Cooperativa conference, where architect Ari Artigas will talk about the history of the cooperative and its most relevant projects. A face-to-face conference offered by the Tarragona Region of the College of Architects of Catalonia.
Lacol is a cooperative of architects that works from the Sants neighborhood of Barcelona. They work to generate community infrastructures for the sustainability of life, as a key tool for the ecosocial transition, through architecture, cooperativism and participation. They work with architecture for social transformation, as a tool to critically intervene in the immediate environment. Always in parallel with society, acting in a fair and supportive manner starting with a horizontal work system.
They believe that the way to transform the city is based on the active participation of the people who live there and proactive action. They work on the interests related to the quality of life of all the people who share the city. The contribution of the architect is made at the heart of the urban movement, as another part of this movement, helping to translate citizen concerns and embody them on paper, providing criteria for the definition of objectives and strategies, as well as tools to define and communicate ideas through drawing, graphic representation, etc.
They encourage debate and discussion on the uses of public spaces and the management of urban spaces, city models, participation and heritage recovery, among others.
The work built by LACOL Arquitectura Cooperativa includes, the housing cooperative La Borda (2014-2018), Comunal Espai Cooperatiu (2016-2020), housing cooperative La Balma (2017-2021), Coopolis Bcn Phase 0. (2016), reform works and other multi-family housing projects that are in process.

El jueves 1 de diciembre de 2022, a las 19:30 h, tendremos la oportunidad de escuchar la conferencia de LACOL Arquitectura Cooperativa, donde la arquitecta Ari Artigas nos hablará sobre la trayectoria de la cooperativa y de sus proyectos más relevantes. Una conferencia presencial ofrecida por la Demarcación de Tarragona del Colegio de Arquitectos de Cataluña.
Lacol es una cooperativa de arquitectos que trabaja desde el barrio de Sants de Barcelona. Trabajan para generar infraestructuras comunitarias por la sostenibilidad de la vida, como herramienta clave por la transición ecosocial, mediante la arquitectura, el cooperativismo y la participación. Trabajan con la arquitectura para la transformación social, como una herramienta para intervenir el entorno próximo de manera crítica. Siempre en paralelo a la sociedad, actuando de manera justa y solidaria empezando por un sistema de trabajo horizontal.
Creen que la manera de transformar la ciudad es a partir de la participación activa de la gente que lo habita y de la acción propositiva. Trabajan sobre los intereses relacionados con la calidad de vida de todas las personas que comparten la ciudad. La aportación del arquitecto se hace en el seno del movimiento urbano, como una pieza más de este movimiento, ayudando a traducir inquietudes ciudadanas y plasmarlas sobre el papel, aportando criterios para la definición de objetivos y de estrategias, así como herramientas para definir y comunicar ideas a través del dibujo, la representación gráfica, etc.
Fomentan el debate y la discusión sobre los usos de los espacios públicos y la gestión de espacios urbanos, los modelos de ciudad, la participación y la recuperación de patrimonio, entre otros.
La obra construida de LACOL Arquitectura Cooperativa incluye, la cooperativa de viviendas La Borda (2014-2018), Comunal Espacio Cooperativo (2016-2020), cooperativa de viviendas La Balma (2017-2021), Coopolis Bcn Fase 0. (2016), obras de reforma y otros proyectos de viviendas plurifamiliares que tienen en proceso.

[In]TESIS | "Vías y entrevías. Atributos y compromisos del distrito industrial de Tarragona"
Analysis of the form and structures in interest to understanding foundational logics, assessing urban events impacts and phenomena, revealing Tarragona industrial districts attributes. Recognize the duality that has been caused between a periphery marked by infrastructures determination and their marginal condition, and a city that, traditionally deals with your center rationalization. Transformation of a territory that has achieved its occupation supporting itself on the strength of unrelated layouts and which would have procured urban exclusion in the space created, analyses how urban possibilities are taking root amidst these conflicts. Examines the initiatives of urban planning as a reflection of the social and technological changes, boosted by the expansion and development policies that marked this period. Concludes from the perspective regarding the recognition of how socioeconomic structures have been deployed in this territory, vindicating the Tarragona urban project has pending regarding its periphery.
